This is a mountain near the center of Sasebo City in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. I was stationed at the US Navy base here in the late 1980s to early 90s in charge of the Marine Security Detachment. Now I visit here 3~4 times a year to conduct western style weddings at the luxury resort hotel near the top of the mountain.
The views from the top of the surrounding seaside are spectacular on clear days. Particularly to the southwest is the 99 Islands seascape. Then looking to the northeast is an amazing overview of Sasebo City and the shared US/Japanese Navy Base.

Dogs must be kept on leash and there a water fountain as well as public bathrooms and vending machines. Few spots to sit around park. Some areas have been overground with nature but the main paths are cleared. Plenty of parking , I went in August so I would suggest bringing mosquito spray if you plan on walking in the other areas beside...
