Shibetsu City Hinata Ski Area — Attraction in Shibetsu

It's not called Tayoroshi Hinode Ski Area it's called Hinata Ski Area. Tiny ski area with 2 advanced or expert slopes and 3 to 4 intermediate/beginner (not sure how they count them as they all kind of run into each other to make a giant really wide slope with different areas of technical difficulty) It has some of the deepest snow consistently when other big name resorts in Hokkaido didn't have great snowfall. It is pretty much ski right onto their 2 lifts. If you have to wait for 3 people in front of you, the locals will call super crowded but you never feel that way on the slopes. 道北のスーパーパウダーゲレンデ！ ここは凄かったな！

正月明けの平日、この日は日中から降雪量が多かったのか、公式さんのナイターオススメ度がMAXに近い点数だった。 ホテルから車で15分程だったので興味本位で行ってみたらこれが大正解！ ナイターなのにどこ滑ってもパウダー状態で、圧雪面が見当たらなかった。 雪が本当に軽く、結晶のまま雪が降ってくる雪質で、このゲレンデ環境なのに人が少なく、ナイター料金なので、さらにお得に感じた！ リフトの長さと滑走距離も十分だと思う。 ただ、道中の運転は本当に怖かった。 あのゲレンデ環境を作る雪の量なので、行きも帰りも吹雪いており、特に帰りは前が真っ白で時折、ホワイトアウト状態。 スキー場から国道に出るまでの道路が、雪てんこ盛りで、車が船のように雪をかきわけながら突き進んで行かなければ行けなく、街灯もないので、何度か「これ道路の上、走ってるのか？」と思えるほど、方向感覚がなくなる。
