Ikaho Green Farm — Attraction in Shibukawa

Massive farm and petting zoo in rural Gunma prefecture. It is not near any station so you will either need a car or take a city bus to get here. The main problem here is that despite the amount of activities, you have to pay per activity ON TOP of a $10 entrance fee. Cow milking? Horse ride? Arts workshop? Sheep walk? All seperate fees. The sheepdog show was good, but short. The place seems wishy washy with no real focus to it and its not very well laid out. You don't get much for the fee you pay in. You have to pay extra for most everything, including the petting area. That is very unusual in Kanto, where most petting areas are free. The rides are short yet costly. Sometimes the sheep are walking around freely, but not as up close and personal as other farms. The only other plus I can think of is that there is plenty of open space...

It is not a very cheap place to visit, but I suppose it would be a fun way to spend time together, particularly if you have children. Parking is free but in addition to the entrance fee, every single attraction costs extra money. So if you have the time to visit every attraction, it may be worth it to invest in the all access pass.
