Satta Pass is a magnificent viewpoint overlooking Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. If the weather is clear, you can admire the majestic figure of Mount Fuji. A landscape view from here was drawn by Utagawa Hiroshige, a famous ukiyo-e artist of the 19th century who influenced European painters such as Van Gogh and Monet. Although nowadays a highway stretches through the superb view of Mount Fuji and the sea, the beauty remains unchanged from the Edo period. Read moreI took the Tomei Expressway from Tokyo to reach this location and was able to arrive about 30 minutes before sunrise. By the time I reached the outlook spot where you have the best view of Mt. Fuji, several other photographers had already shown up and had their tripods out waiting for the sun to rise. The small parking lot is free with onsite restrooms. Great place to capture shots of Mt. A 3-km hike up Satta pass from JR Yui station (45-min leisurely walk) With signs both in Japanese and English you won't get lost ,the trail is pretty straighforward. Toilet at the top and vending machines along the way. Oranges everywhere 😁 Just bring some food for your fuel but please don't litter,bring your trash back with you.
