Miinohara Ski Area — Attraction in Shobara

Its basically a field on a hill with a ropeway running along one side. There is zero snow grooming. The ropeway is not easy to use especially for snowboarders. I am a good snowboarder and there was only one other snowboarder there when I went. He was also good but he could not use the ropeway at all. He fell down multiple times and gave up completely. I made it to the top once but it was very hard work. The next time I gave up half way up after falling a couple of times on the ropeway. I have used ropeways in Europe without any problems. This ropeway is only elevated at the bottom and top so that it drags along the ground for most of the way. It is VERY basic. Reviews say it is good for kids buy my son (aged 6) was skiing and had difficultly with the ropeway. My wife was skiing and found it fine. Unless you live very close I would just avoid this...
