Went here today and had a great time. 1600 yen for an adult and I thought it was well worth it. The exhibits are beautiful and well kept, the sites are numbered to help make sure you see everything. There's also a little art gallery in the middle of the walk, be sure not to miss it.

Don't get distracted by the sound of the waterfall, you'll see it at the end.

This really is a hidden gem. I went during the week, no lines, no crowds. I could leisurely stroll through and get all the pictures I wanted with no one trying to recreate someone else's IG experience getting in my way.

There's a little shop at the end to buy some souvenirs... I may have spent a little more than I should... but no ragrets.

Tip: go here before going to the restaurant, you may get a discount...

My friend and I are university students, so tickets were 1000 yen for each of us - more than worth it for the whole experience!

There's a lot of hiking both to the museum itself and within: I'm a couch potato but my friend is a hiking maniac, but we both managed to get it done thanks to the various resting spots they had throughout the area. Some of them even had paper fans and cushions for you sit on. The only minor complain I have is the lack of vending machines except for one resting area near the starting point and the entrance, so bring plenty of water with you or buy them when you're buying tickets. There's no right route, we basically just stumbled around but managed to see every building. They're well-connected to each other.

Overall a very...

Superb! Worth double the ticket price. Tells stories about the ingenuity and creative spirit of Shikoku people through buildings and other material things. We spent 6 hours here not counting a lunch break for delicious udon. I loved the (outstanding) English translations of the interpretive videos and signs. I found the stories really moving (especially the Yoshino sisters ❤️ revisiting their childhood home and reminiscing after 55 years). I loved taking a break by the irori hearth with the elderly man who was keeping the fire going. I loved the extravagance of the ikebana floral arrangements large and small everywhere. I recommend this museum to anyone who has a heart. Take it slowly and enjoy the...

The Mog Champ sends his regards. After having lunch I decided to come here to Shikoku Village, an open-air museum as described which was interesting because it seemed like a small park at the same time! It must not get a lot of visitors during a rainy day since it's an open area but fortunately for me it was just cloudy. Lots of different history I learned here and it felt nice walking through the natural setup of things as well. It's a bit of a distance to get to by train and walking but nothing too complicated, if you're into nature and museums this would be perfect for you. Thanks for the experience Shikoku Village!
