To start off, if your a lover of dogs and animals this is not the place for you. the resort has a shibu dog chained up outside at the base. The dog has never been let off and can do nothing but walk continuously in circles through its own piss and poo to keep its self stimulated, the chain is no more than 1m long. The ski guide told us the poor dog has been there for 10 years and never let off. Unfortunately I didnt think to video it or get photos at the time but I guarantee every vistor sees the poor pup and for us it just ruined the experience we had that day. Disgusting animal cruelty. ( really wish we could help that poor pup but we are just tourists passing through for a week and unsure how we could even help the poor thing).
Other than that the staff were rude, spoke no english, The ski gear for hire is old and worn out and is not washed between customers, they took our returned jackets and we saw them wipe them free of snow and straight back onto the rack for hire.
The rental gear, change rooms and coin lockers are all in different buildings which was a major hassle.
So overall the place was a let down and I would recommend Hakuba, sapporo or any other mountain...
Read moreIt was my second time skiing in Japan and this experience was not as great as the ones at another ski resort. We had booked a package for this resort via Klook.
On the day, there was only 1 lift and 2 slopes (1 was a beginner one for practicing), luckily there were not too many people so it wasn’t too crowded.
Change rooms & coin lockers were inconvenient as the area to change was extremely small, and it cost ¥300 to open each time. Keep ¥100 coins if you plan to use the lockers!
The ski pants rented were not water resistant as you’d expect.
Unfortunately when we went (31 Dec), it wasn’t cold enough for this resort to have snow so we had man made ice. We were told by the guide that there would be snow...
Read moreThis ski resort is highly recommended. It was recommended by a friend. We came here in January during winter. Before going up, you must first purchase a gondola ticket, after which you can rent ski equipment based on the available packages. The rental fee is around 6500 yen (depending on the choice made). There are several different types of lifts to try, each with a different degree of steepness. However, as far as I know, there is no specific route for beginners, so it is not recommended for beginners to take the elevator the first time they try. This ski resort also has restaurants, gift shops, and...
