3 jan, 2025 second visit here for one day. the access was ok, but after some point of a small bridge, we had much more snow on the road. finally, we had a lot of snow on the last bridge before here. it was ok with studdless tires of FF odyssey.
we had a great time here to ski here on a fantastic snow condition slope. maximum waiting time ; 3 minutes to wait for the lifts when we lined up a queue.
totally, it was excellent. ................................................................................ 2 jan, 2023 first visit here and skied for about two days. the clerk at the lift ticket booth told me it was quite busy when i arrived, but it was not busy on new year days. in fact, I'm get used to MEIHO, Winghills, and Takasu, so i was happy enough to ski far more than expected with my family.
i liked it cz there are more skiers than snowboarders here.
if you have a chance to visit Honokidaira, you should come here for...
Read moreHonokidaira Ski Resort offers an amazing and stress-free skiing experience, even during the busy New Year’s break. We visited on two separate days and were pleasantly surprised by how uncrowded it was—perfect for those who prefer a more relaxed ski experience.
Skiing and Rentals The rental and lift ticket package was reasonably priced at 10,300 yen. There were plenty of rental shops, so finding gear was easy. The resort has gondolas, with the most time spent on the middle one and the one at the top of the mountain. The top gondola had no wait, which made it especially convenient. The other gondolas near the greens were busier due to many kids learning to ski, so it’s best to be cautious in those areas.
Food and Dining The resort’s restaurants served hearty meals with generous portions—perfect for refueling after a day on the slopes. The food was satisfying and comforting, ideal for the chilly weather and energy...
Read moreA 40 min drive from takayama to Honokidaira skii slopes. Has range of slopes from gentler slopes for beginners to steep ones for advanced skiiers/snow boarders. Beginner slope and skii lift area was steeper than expected.. hard to manoeuvre for first timers in my opinion. The intermediate skii slope at the far end actually had much better quality snow and much wider area to skii. Rental stores are run by different providers in separate buildings. Rental of skii equipment and clothings was easy and seamless. Prices are very reasonable. Would definitely come back to Honokidaira if in staying...
