Takumi no Yakata Forest Aquarium — Attraction in Takayama

Takuminoyakata Morino Aquarium is more than just an aquarium – it's a unique and enriching experience. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady who spoke some English and guided us through the historic residence, sharing insights about every part of the building. The 3D model of the old Takayama city was particularly impressive, and the paintings exhibited on the second floor were beautiful. Stumbled across this place after looking for things to do in the area when the weather wasn’t great. What a gem - a beautiful house and a very welcoming host who gave us a tour with English prompts. The diorama of 1950’s Takayama was great.
