What a great find ! While staying in Shirahama I ventured over to the Ume museum and I'm so glad I did. A very well presented and informative presentation of the Ume of the Minabe Hidaka district of Wakayama. Throughout the museum there was English information on every display which was great for non-Japanese speakers. Quite a comprehensive gift shop too with lots of Ume associated products and souvenirs. Make the effort to get out to the museum you won't be disappointed. I know everything about Ume plums now, go on ask me...

店ではあまり見かけない梅を使った色んなも食品も売ってます。 屋上展望フロアからは梅の花開花時期でなければ何も見るものありませんが、梅関連のきれいな展示場フロア（無料）内に立体ジオラマあります。 利用者少ないせ...

What a great find ! While staying in Shirahama I ventured over to the Ume museum and I'm so glad I did. A very well presented and informative presentation of the Ume of the Minabe Hidaka district of Wakayama. Throughout the museum there was English information on every display which was great for non-Japanese speakers. Quite a comprehensive gift shop too with lots of Ume associated products and souvenirs.
