Absolutely breathtaking. We came in the afternoon with a breath of fog lingering. Can't compare to the other viewing points since I didn't stop at those, but I would certainly travel around lake mashu the next time I return.

The toilets at this stop are not very clean and dont have soap. You can buy tissue at the nearby...

裏摩周に行ってきました。木々が茂り、表よりは摩周湖の姿はチラ見でしたが、それはそれで「お預け」感があって次に訪れる時の楽しみが増えたってもんです!! それにしても、木々の間からチラッと見える摩周湖は、アイドルのコンサートでステージの端っこからしか推しが見えないけど、それでも十分幸せ!!みたいな感覚でしょうかね？ でも、この「ちょっとしか見えない」というのが、また想像力を掻き立てるんですよね〜。 水面下には何が潜んでいるのか、あの小さな島にはどんな秘密があるのか…なんて考えていたら、あっという間に時間が過ぎました。 今度はぜひ、湖全体が見える時期にリベンジして、摩周湖の「全貌」を拝みたいと思います。その時は、今回見えなかった分まで、じっくりと湖の美しさを堪能するぞー!!そして、あわよくば、湖の女神でも現れて、宝くじの当選番号でも教えてくれないかな、なんて淡い期待を抱きつつ…。いや、冗談ですよ？半分くらいは。

また、展望台には段差があり、ベンチになっているのでマッタリ過ごす事も出来ます。 出来ない事といえば、“紙で拭く事”ですかね。 無いんですよ、“紙”が。トイレはあるんですが、用を足そうと思ったら“トイレットペーパーはありません”の文字。 トイレで用を足すか、そこら辺の葉っぱを使うかどうか迷いました。 多分、摩周湖を見つめるよりは遥かに長く、トイレの入り口に貼られた紙を見つめていた私です。そこら辺で足しても良かったんですが、コンビニに行って用を足しました。
