Aso Shrine (Shrine of Bicycle) — Attraction in Tokyo

A beautiful, albeit small, shrine on the outskirts of Tokyo. It is built on a site that has been the shrines location for over 1400 years! There is a tree on the site that is over 1100 years old. Absolutely hard to imagine...

It is on top the Tama River, so when it is quiet, you can hear the river easily.

The shrine itself isn’t anything especially remarkable, but the small bicycle charms are the major attraction. The shrine is effectively the end of the Tama river trail/path, and is just outside of Fussa. The final bit of trail is a bit rocky so expect to walk a road bike the last few meters. Funny enough there’s not really a dedicated place to park your bike, so know it will just be leaned up...

20250726今日は急に休みになったので、秋川渓谷の上流にある「神戸岩」まで避暑に行く事にしました！ 5:30起きで6:30にレオパレスを出発して、ひたすら下道で走ること約90分で「神戸岩駐車場」に到着しました！ 途中の秋川渓谷までは混んでたのですが、駐車場は貸し切り状態でした！ 嬉しいことに無料駐車場で、10台分白線が引いてありました！ 駐車場には、公衆トイレも併設されていて、「神戸岩」も見えています！ トイレで用を足してから、車で靴を履き替えて「神戸岩」を目指します！ 何て涼しいんでしょう！ ここの所、外気温が35℃↑の猛暑日が続き、職場はボイラーが焚かれているので45℃↑なので、同じ東京都とは思えません💦 とにかく、気持ちの良い所です！ 「神戸岩」で沢歩きを楽しんだ後、阿伎留神社、岩走神社で参拝を済ませ、次は「武蔵阿蘇神社」に向かいます！ 岩走神社から、走ること約20分で武蔵阿蘇神社に到着しました！ 立派な社名標と鳥居の間に車を駐車しました！ 大鳥居をくぐって境内に入ります！ ん？これは裏参道なのか、拝殿の横に出ました💦 先客が数組いましたが、お宮参りの家族がカメラマン連れで拝殿前から全然動く気配が無いので、正面の写真も撮れないし、15分待っても動かないので、他の参拝客も遠慮して参拝出来ずに待ってるので、ジジイが先陣を切って拝殿で参拝を済ませ、お宮参り対応なのか拝殿右側で宮司が座っていたのでお声掛けして書置きの御朱印を拝受出来ました！ 個人的には、素敵な神社さんだと思います！
