Kanoto-Iwa is God's Gate Rock. There are Two 100 meters high Rocks adjoin. You can walk there. It will be good hiking, but it is difficult for little kids to walk there because the rocks are wet and it is easy to slip. You need to grab the safety chain to stay. You don't need to walk the same place because there is a road for cars beside. You will see a tunnel. You may need to have a light method because the tunnel doesn't have a light. Almost no car passes there, but it may. Good luck. There are 7 car parking lots before you reach the Kanto Rock and there are free bath room. I saw a warning of bear around the area....
Read moreI loved the short but thrilling walk in the valley(??) between the massive rocks believed to be a gateway to god's realm and would recommend it to both kids as well as adults.
Difficult to access by public transport (no trains and the nearest bus stop is a good 3 km. walk ), the last one km. stretch to the parking lot is a very narrow road that can discourage some car owners too.
I had the place to myself on a warmer spring day but doubt this place is ever crowded. A good place to visit after or before the Hossawa...
Read moreThis was a really cool experience! It was not what I was expecting at all. I thought it was a nice stroll since it said valley walking. It actually turned out that you had to climb a ladder and hold on to ropes as you’re going along. It wasn’t hard at all and actually it was a lot of fun. It was a nice surprise. On the way back though I walked down the road and through the tunnel, it didn’t take long. The tunnel was a little dark but it didn’t last too long. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area I think...
