Nagasaki Lookout — Attraction in Tokyo

Take a close look at the unusual rocks – you can see white, semi-transparent veins running through the brown stone. The guide mentioned that this was once ordinary sand, which was heated by lava during an eruption and transformed into these unique structures. These veins are most likely quartz, one of the most common minerals in volcanic rocks. Quartz forms when molten magma fills cracks in the stone and crystallizes as it cools.
