One of the most magical temples I have ever visited in Japan, and I have visited quite a few.
Tamaki Jinja is also considered as one of the "Power Spots" in Japan. It is believed that, you can only visit this temple if the Gods (Kamisama) summon you.
The forest feels almost mythical, it also host a 3 thousand years old Japanese cedar tree, that is legendary. Apart from that, there is also the Meotosugi (husband & wife) cedar tree.
I strongly recommend to visit Tamaki Jinja if you can, really...

I visited Tamaki Shrine, a hidden World Heritage Site in Yoshino County, Nara Prefecture. The Yoshino County Expressway in Nara Prefecture only goes partway, so I kept driving on dirt roads. I got off at Gojo Interchange on the highway, but even from Sakai City it took over three and a half hours. I was lucky to be able to visit this shrine, which is so mysterious that it's said you have to meet certain conditions to get there. After Totsukawa-go, I visited the Sea Turtle Park and Aquarium in Kiho Town, Wakayama Prefecture, and then Hashigui Rock in Kushimoto Town, Wakayama Prefecture. After exploring the ruins of a hotel, I found the river in Totsukawa-go incredibly beautiful and deserted, a private riverbed. I ate at an izakaya before visiting Tamaki Shrine, but after walking, I got hungry, so I searched for a convenience store. I found a convenience store at a nearby hotel that closes at 9 PM, but it was sold out. The closest convenience store was 46 kilometers away, and there was no highway, so I just drove on dirt roads and...
