平安時代末期の創建と伝わる曹洞宗の仏教寺院です 明治34年(1901)9月13日に建立された由緒が記された石碑があります 第81代安徳天皇の伝承、戦国時代天正年間に尼子氏家臣山中鹿之助の焼討ちによる寺院の焼失、江戸時代天保年間の再興、明治時代の移築等の長通寺の歴史が漢文で記されています 寺域である岡益石堂の森周辺には、樹齢数百年以上の巨木や古い石仏、石塔があり歴史を感じます 本堂、鐘楼、山門、庫裏、土塀等の伽藍は改築され新しくなっていますが古刹とし...
