Karuizawa Toy Kingdom — Attraction in Tsumagoi

We visited on a Friday so it wasn't crowded at all and we spent 5 hours here with our 4-year-old. The outdoor forest adventure area was my favourite as the weather was great and the autumn colours were beautiful. The tree houses were very cute and there was a lot to explore. There is a small river where you can do trout-fishing and have grilled fish afterwards (note that you can only catch up to 2 fish and to minimise the waiting time, the fish that you eat is not the one that you catch). The view from the giant ferris wheel was spectacular. The rides were simple but perfect for young children. Overall, we had an enjoyable time outdoors on a perfect autumn day and the free pass was well worth it (2,600yen for adults and 2,400yen for children...

It doesn't look much to an adult, but it is a paradise to children. For families with small children, 5 years old and under, I suggest that the entrance ticket rather than the one day pass is enough. The indoor playrooms and the outdoor play area beside them are included in the entrance ticket. None of the rides are though. However, for that age group the indoor playrooms are much better than the outdoor activities, which tend to have queues and restrictions. You could spend hours in either the tomica and plarail room or the "Play house" playroom. The outdoor play area has some slides and push along rides. Visited last year and this year during autumn and the feeling each time was different . Place was not too crowded and we like the rooms with toy train tracks and trains and the corner with all the traditional toys ( before computer games came to wretch the kids ‘s childhood ) entrance fee was ok but maybe because of covid , there was no day pass and we had to pay for each ride which added up pretty quickly ( ave 500 yen / person from 2 years old and up ) food choices were normal for amusement theme park standard . Recommend the adventure course but again , kid has to be accompanied by adult so both person has to pay even though it is just the kid doing...
