I visited the place early August 2023 and sunflowers were well booming and make the scenery great. However I was disappointed because of some aspects of this place.
Food There are some food stand and we could meet some interesting local products but unfortunately lack of varieties.
Eating environment The hard thing for us was that tables for eating were probably not enough and very crowded. Then the place was close to toilet and the location seems to close to pig farm. That means we were forced to eat foods with some bad smell.
Music Loud music constantly playing in the place. Then played music were mainly Japanese pops of few decades ago. In my impression, the loud music and beautiful scenery of sunflowers were very miss matched. I don’t understand why we were forced to hear loud pop music while seeing beautiful flowers in the beautiful location. (I guess the idea of loud Japanese pops comes from Japanese typical snow resort)
Just flowers in limited area… The venue is very large and wide but separated some areas. Sunflowers don’t bloom simultaneously in whole location but bloom in order in each area. It means that the venue is very large but we can see blooming sunflowers just in limited area. Also there are no entertainment other than seeing flowers. I know it is not problem because this place is the place to see flowers, but I would be happy if there were some entertainment or attractions especially for kids.
The reason why I was disappointed may that my expectation was too much higher than the reality. I respect from bottom of my heart for those who plant the flowers and prepared as Himawari-Hiroba for many visitors, but it didn’t worth to take hours to visit this place for us. Instead of taking hours for driving, we should have visited closer place. I hope this place will be better with some minor changes of operation utilizing...
