Magnificent view from Yuwandake, not to be missed! Take note that the mountain road from Uken may not be opened, and we took the other road coming from Amami Forestpolis and it was well worth the trip. Perhaps due to the temporary closure of the road from Uken, there wasn't anyone else when we were there. There's a Torii gate which is the entrance to the summit walk to Yuwandake, on the other side is a walk to a superbly scenic observatory where you can view the "broccoli" landscape with 360 degrees of simple nature.

湯湾岳公園は、宇検村にあるキチンと整備された公園で、20台ほどの駐車場が整備されており公衆トイレもあります。駐車場からは、整備された階段で4～5分で上がれる展望台もあります。駐車場から湯湾岳展望台に徒歩で上がる道中には、分かれ道がありますが、左側を上がると最短で展望台に行けます。(右側を行っても遊歩道を50～100m歩いて、展望台につきます。) 湯湾岳公園展望台からの景色は、ほぼ全周で山々の緑が楽しめ、遠くに焼内湾も望め、海の青が映えます。 湯湾岳公園までの車での道中は、住用町側からの道も大和村側(大和まほろば館付近から入る道)からの道もどちらも急カーブが何度もある狭い道ですが、車の運転に比較的慣れている地方都市にお住まいの方であれば、普通車でもそんなに困ることはないかと思います。ただし運転に不慣れな大都会の方には、離合が難しいかもしれません。 この駐車場からは、湯湾岳山頂に向かう登山道が在りますが、湯湾岳山頂展望台まで50～60分程かかるようです。もし湯湾岳山頂展望台に向かうようなら、大和村側の登山道から入った方が、階段にはなりますが、キチンと整備されており、20～30分で湯湾岳山頂展望台に到着します。たたし、湯湾岳山頂は、立入禁止となっていて、山頂には行けません。 もし景色を見るために湯湾岳山頂展望台に行かれるようならば、2025年4月10日現在、展望台は周囲に木々が大量に生えてしまっていて、正直全く景色は何も見えなくなっています。

2023.04.09(日)11:20 奄美旅行２日目。奄美南部をドライブ🎶🚗💨🎶 奄美で一番高い山に登っておこうと思い来てみました。 駐車場も綺麗に整備されていて、トイレも綺麗でした。 正式な山頂は立ち入り禁止らしいけど(自然保護の為かな)、その近くまで行ってみようと思っていたのに意外と初っ端から落ち葉が多くて、、、万が一のハブが恐くて恥ずかしながら断念🐍🤣 あと自販機くらいあると思ってたけど無かったのも断念原因かな。 そもそも予定では15分ほどで登れると思ってたのはもうひとつの登山口でした💦(ここから車で45分ほど) こちらからだと35分は掛かるらしくリサーチ不足でした💦 その代わりに、舗装された道ですぐ行ける展望台へ行きそこからの眺めも素晴らしくて、とても満足しました🤭

OMG!! Unbelievable view!! I can’t believe this is not advertised. It was the highlight of our trip. 360 degree views of the whole island once you walk up the steps to the observatory tower. Don’t be put off by the road leading to the spot and the path you walk up to the tower. It is sooooo worth it!! Just breathtaking and NOT...

The nature is magnificent but the infrastructures are very poor There are no signs in English to reach the attractions nor indications to the roads There are no restaurants or food stalls watsover (plenty of drink distributors though) gas stations too are far...
