A great place for walking. Running or simply walking your dog. Coming from Colombia 🇨🇴 it amazed me how beautiful and organized this little park and lake are. I can imagine this place with cherry blossoms 🌸 it must be unique!

立岡自然公園 加藤清正公が造ったといわれている立岡池と幕末に完成した花園池を囲むように広がる自然公園です。３月末から４月初旬にかけては、約2000本の桜が咲き誇る。桜のシーズンが終わると、肥後花菖蒲の名所に。池の周りはランニング・ウォーキングコースにもなっており、バーベキューエリアもあります。 太刀池は周囲1里9町、深さ8尺、水溜めが5町6畝に及ぶ大池で、清正が築いた溜め池の中では最大級の規模である。自ら陣頭指揮をしている。小さな山に指揮所を設け帳塚山と呼ぶ。池の貯水量を最大に保つよう種々の工夫を施し、その灌漑面積は212町に達している。 立岡池：東西364㍍・南北1469㍍・167000㎡/貯水量50万㎥/受益面積170㌶ 花園池：東西350㍍・南北350㍍・91000㎡/貯水量30万㎥/受益面積108㌶ 熊本県下のため池では貯水量６位と受益面積５位。併せると東京ドーム5.5個分。
