Soya Fureai Park — Attraction in Wakkanai

We really enjoyed our stay here in one of the 11 cabins (2 are pet friendly) for 5 nights at the end of September 2024. The cabins are extremely clean, comfortable, private, and well -designed. Be careful though, there is no cutlery or crockery or cookware in the kitchen - nothing. So either byo or you can hire from reception. We had our own. The complex has tent and car camping with excellent facilities and just lovely grounds. There are activities such as mini-golf and both an indoor and outdoor playground. This place is perfect for children. You can drive or walk to a lookout with 360-degree views to the sea and to Lake Onuma. The Lake Onuma Bird Observation Centre is only a 7 min drive away. What a stunning campground! We booked a cabin for one night, but added another. Kitchen is equipped with a cooker, microwave, rice cooker, kettle and fridge freezer. You can hire pots and utensils for 500yen. Perfect for buying fresh crab and scallops at the fish market and preparing a meal in. The deck is lovely, the futons are comfortable. The shower and wash facilities have soap, paper cups, hairdryer, toothbrush and shampoo. The campground has laundry facilities, beware the dryers take their time (spilt your load across multiple dryers they only cost 100yen for 30 mins). The reception is very helpful, they speak some English and even called ahead to other campsites to book or next accommodation.

20年近く前に一度利用させて頂いたことがあります。 こちらのキャンプ場ですが、高齢者割引なるものがあるんです。 高齢者は入場料700円が無料、キャンプ場使用料のみで利用出来るんです。 当然私は利用料のみで１泊1,000円でした。

公営のキャンプ場だけあって設備も超充実！！ ・コンランドリー・無料シャワー（シャンプー・リンス有り）・ウォシュレット付きトイレ・電子レンジ・ゴミ捨てOK いまどき天国の様なキャンプ場です。

難点は？ １、札幌から稚内までは約300kmほどあり、休みなしで走っても5時間半（下道）超ロングドライブになります。移動時間・ガソリン代などを考えるとそう簡単にはお邪魔出来ません。 ２、営業期間が短すぎます。（9月末で営業が終了してしまう） ※稚内は日本最北の町、10月に入ってしまうと強風と低温でキャンプどころではなくなってしまいます。最高気温14～5度位

ちょっと気になった事 プライベートサイトのペット可エリアですが、キャンピングカーの仲良しグループさんかな？・・・長期滞在なのかサイトに洗濯物など・・・お仲間でとても楽しそうでしたが、私的には少々近寄り難い雰囲気でした。
