五月の良く晴れた日、シングルバーナーと珈琲セットを持って笛吹段公園へ。 数ヵ所に木製のテーブルとベンチが設置されているが、そのなかでも太陽が高い時間帯には木陰となる中央付近のテーブルを選んで、持参したアウトドアチェアを広げる。 下界は少し汗ばむくらいの気温だったが、山の上の木陰には涼風が吹く。気持ちいい。 お湯を沸かしている間に豆を挽いておく。深く椅子にからだを沈み込ませ、眼下に広がる景色を独り占めする。穏やかな駿河湾の向こう左隅に伊豆半島、正面には焼津港、そして焼津と藤枝の街並み。遠く御前崎や牧之原台地も見える。多種類の鳥のさえずりをBGMにうとうとしてしまう。三時間ほどここで贅沢な時間を過ごした。 ※トイレは、簡易トイレとしては臭いもさほど気にならず、比較的清潔に保たれていると思うが、手を洗うことができないのがマイナス点。そもそも水道が引かれていないのだ。
