Yamatsuriyama Park — Attraction in Yamatsuri

Lots of trails up into the mountains. Fairly well maintained, but some log steps on the trail have disintegrated, and leaf litter can make those steep spots a little tricky to navigate. The signs at the hiking spots show playgrounds, but there aren’t any now. There are a few restaurants but the food is mostly the same in all of them. Basted mochi, fish on a stick, or chicken on a stick, plus udon or soba (great flavor, really). Really gorgeous viewpoints at many places along all the trails. We went today (early November, 2017) and the leaves were really pretty. Looked like they would peak in about a week. Oh and look for the friendly little black and white cat on the west side trail. 春も夏も秋きれいです。There are some nice scenic spots and plenty of hiking trails with decent markings. If you are in a rush you can get some decent photographs of the landscape with about a 10 minute walk. Some of the photos I have posted are from higher up on the black...

矢祭山駅降りて目の前にある公園です。駐車場は駅前と公園前にアスファルトの整備された場所が用意されています。ただし道路の傍のため車どおりが多いときは注意が必要です。

桜のある手前のほうだけに行きましたが、鉄道が見える岩場は登山道などはあまり整備されていないためしっかりとした靴でないと滑ります。

桜のほうですが公園の手前のほうに所せましと植えられており桜のトンネルや桜の山肌などが見て取れます。ちょうど満開から少し散り始めの時だったため桜吹雪になっており、非常に綺麗でした。

知名度があまりないためかそれほど降車客もいないため...
