Baba Kabokuen Flower Garden — Attraction in Yokohama

This is a really lovely park in the heart of Yokohama.

There is a wonderful collection of trees and plants including plum, cherry and willow and also a small bamboo forest.

You can see carp in the small pond, and a large variety of wild birds including bulbul, egrets, kingfishers and white-eye.

There are several older buildings around the gardens as well as a modern visitor center.

The gardens are operated by Yokohama city and are very well maintained.

横浜市鶴見区にある、横浜市営の公園です。鶴見駅西口から川崎鶴見臨港バス鶴01系統の菊名駅行きで行くと、馬場谷バス停から徒歩５分くらいで到着します。案内はありませんので、地図を参照のうえ、行ってください。横浜市営バスからも行くことができます。裏門もありますが、風が強い日は閉鎖されますので、注意が必要ですね。公園内は手入れが行き届いており、四季を通じていろんな花が楽しめます。また、茅葺き屋根の古民家（旧藤本家住宅）が移築復元されていて、土間を初め、ザシキに上がることが無料で楽しめます。横浜市の観光案内にはあまり取り上げられていないので、園内は地元の家族連れやカメラを片手に撮影しているご高齢者の方々がいらっしゃいます。隣接して「建功寺」があって、午後５時までは、枡野住職（多摩美術大学教授）が設計した和風庭園を散策することができます（檀家以外の人も観ることができます）。 今回、鶴見区役所区政推進課の企画で「第５回ＪＲ鶴見線で巡る緑のスタンプラリー」が2021年4月29日から５月９日まで開催され、６つあるスタンプラリーの６箇所目になっています。先着3,000人に記念品としてオリジナルキーホルダーがプレゼントされましたが、企画が好評で、途中で3,000人を超えてしまい、記念品は前回のコースターになりました。台紙も印刷物が無くなってしまい、コピーの台紙になりました。 スタンプラリーにより、大変素晴らしい公園を知ることが出来ましたので、また機会があ...
