I was looking around for a local farm that offers strawberry picking and this was one that popped up on Google. It's about 30 minutes from Yokosuka (near navy base). When you first arrive, the first berry house is only for sales and there's a map telling you to drive around to the other end of the farm for picking (it's only in Japanese though) but it's only a couple hundred meters away.
Once you're parked, the greenhouse is right there and pay the people in front for picking. It's ¥1,900/person, children under 3 are free, and you're given 30 minutes to pick and eat as many as you like; you can't take them home. Also, it's pretty warm inside the berry house so I recommend leaving your jacket in the car, or tied around your waist.
They also have local produce for sale just outside the berry house such as daikon, cabbage, and broccoli for very cheap. They also sell their packs of strawberries if you want to take some home; we ended up buying a pack (¥750) as they were so good.
A bit steep price wise but a fun experience and would definitely do this...
Read moreWhat a wonderful spot! Freezing cold outside on a rainy April day, but the green house was warm and the staff were happy and inviting. A very fun activity for school age kids and older. You need to listen to how to pick the strawberries so it may not be great for toddlers if you can’t supervise them well. 2200¥ for adults for 30 mins of picking and eating (with condensed milk!) as much as you want. You can purchase a pack of strawberries to take with...
Read morePerfect experience for little ones. We did not have a reservation, and we were still able to pick strawberries. They give your party three rows, so you're not picking right beside strangers. The strawberries were so delicious. It was warm inside the greenhouse, so dress appropriately. When you enter the farm, keep driving past the first parking lot (on the right) and the shop (on the left), and follow the road to the other side...
