You may have a strong impression that this is a vast park with the theme of ancient Japan. Of course, you can observe up close the remains that have been excavated or are under excavation, but you may be disappointed to think that there are numerous such remains scattered throughout the park. I think it would be better to think of it as a hands-on learning spot rather than an academic spot. For this reason, I think it is best enjoyed by parents and children. There is a large grassy plaza with no remains around, and many children can be seen playing with balls (of course, the use of firearms is strictly prohibited). As this is a hands-on learning spot, you can enter a restored ancient dwelling and experience how people lived in those days. You can also make ancient clothes and stone knives, though not always (There is a fee for all activities, and the number of visitors is limited). Most of the exhibits are explained in English, so even tourists from overseas can enjoy them. Free shuttle buses service is available within the park, making it easy for the elderly and disabled to use. On the other hand, if you are visiting by train, the nearest stations are Kanzaki Station and Yoshinogari Koen Station, both of which are some distance away. The parking lot is large enough to accommodate a large number of cars, so it is better to...
Read moreThe park is way bigger than one would expect (maybe) and if you love history, certainly make your way out here. They even have workshops and I loved the one I joined because I love stones. Seeing the Yayoi life in the past was a good experience. You can walk around the park to check out the old houses and the ancient burial. There is a roving bus. There’s a big part of the park that’s good for kids (or so the guide at the community center told me because I didn’t explore that part)....
