Chokaisan Wooden Toy Museum — Attraction in Yurihonjo

I only visited the free area but really enjoyed my time there. It was quiet on a January weekday so I basically had the space to myself.

With all the wood and natural materials used in the building and decorations, I felt like I was in a cozy forest cottage! It was a very relaxing and recharging space, and the staff at the cafe were very nice as well.

If I could give 0 stars, I would definitely do so. The staff there are unbelievably rude, especially the older ones. They kept reminding parents and their kids that they had to leave the toys they were playing with within 15 minutes, and they did so in a rude manner, even when no other kids were waiting. If the kids didn’t want to leave (as they often don’t), the staff turned the AC to the coldest temperature to force the parents to take their kids away. This is the second time I’ve visited this place, and I noticed the crowd was noticeably smaller than a year ago. I guess this is the reason...

廃校をうまく活用しています。中は木のいいにおいであふれていて、たくさんのおもちゃや遊具があって1日いられそうです。 開館直後に行ったのでガラガラでしたが、11時ころには靴棚が満杯になるほどの盛況ぶり。 3時間を目処にという注意書きも納得です。みんなで譲り合って利用したいですね。 黄色いエプロンをつけたおもちゃ館の人たちも優しく、一瞬のすきをついて子どもが親元から離れた時もわざわざ連れてきてくださり助かりました。その節はお世話になりました。

多目的トイレに大人用のスリッパが一足のみだったので、もう一足増やしてくださると親2人+きょうだいで入ってひとりが上の子のトイレ、もうひとりが下の子のおむつ替え、と動けるので助かるなと思いました（わがままな意見なのは重々承知しておりますが時間短縮にはなるかな？と…！）

個人的には0〜2歳専用の遊び場があるのがとても好印象です。大きな子に圧倒されずにゆったりと遊ぶことができると思います。

お昼近くになると併設されているカフェからとてもいいにおいがしてきて、値段もそこまで高くなく、テイクアウトできるお菓子や小さい木の小物などもあって（受付の売店とは別のリーズナブルなラインナップです）次はここでご飯も食べたいと思わせてくれました。 おみやげに手作りのクッキーを買いましたが、メープルの風味がきいていて美味しかったです！（カフェでアイス添えられているものだそうです） それと、自動販売機のドリンクが100円で買えるものもたくさんあるのが地味に助かるポイントでした。
