Kagura Mitsumata — Attraction in Yuzawa

Pros: accessible from Tokyo Cons: ski facilities and service standard lacking behind others in the Japan and internationally

e.g. every cafe and restaurant was closed and there wasn’t a single place to have a meal or a drink although the slopes were open, safety perimeter orange barricades were not installed for safety , no staff was present at lifts to aid/facilitate lift takers so you see many missing lifts as they weren’t able to line up properly...

It was our first time in Kagura ski. There are more challenging ski slopes which makes skiing more interesting. My Daughter went up to different levels of difficulties with the coach who was very experienced. It was comparatively less crowded. I recommended that if you have reached intermediate level, you can come for some challenges. For parents who were not skiing, there were a few canteens. The snowman cafe was the best. The curry...

Used to be good before covid. Now the prices have increased a lot and half the lifts are closed due to a lack of staff. The top lift which is for powder runs hasn’t even opened the whole season and they decide to just close random lifts on perfect days for absolutely no reason. Not coming back here. Basically 1 lift worth riding only now… not worth ¥6800 at all. Niseko prices for 1/20th...
