The island is very beautiful, and the nature is truly impressive. I recommend renting a scooter and exploring all the main spots — we managed to do it in 3 hours. However, if you’re staying here for a couple of days, be prepared that the island doesn’t really “wake up” until 11:00 AM. You won’t find any food before then, even if a place says it opens at 9:00 — it won’t be open. Restaurants don’t follow their Google-listed hours; they open whenever they feel like it. Also, keep in mind that there are only two stores on the island, and the selection of products is very limited. I gave two stars not to the island itself, but to the service on the island. Please keep in mind to not touch nor bother them and keep a good distance for them to freely swim. Also do not tread water wildly around them and...
Read moreTHE most beautiful, clear and lovely beaches in the world are here! I visited AMA Beach and GAHI uninhabited island a 10 minute boat ride from Zamami port this July 2021 and was rewarded with glorious water but I must warn you no shade as both places are completely ( and luckily) totally undeveloped ! I think Zamami exists only for tourists, however with the Covid plague it offered few options for eating as many places were shut. I rented a bike for ¥3,000 for the day as bus services are sparse. A really wonderful day trip from Naha port and well worth it. I hope I can return between December and March when the humpback whales visit...
