Shymkent Zoo — Attraction in Shymkent

It’s so great place to discover animals. Ticket office and many workers were kind to help us. But there is one man Who works in hippopogamus area. He is very tall and big, has coloured eyes. He approached us and looked at us very weird. We told him that we are Tourist and We don’t speak in Russian. He was looking crazy for no reason. We said that sorry - Whatever and Showed our body language to him by saying sorry. Many times We said to him sorry and left the place. But then He started to speak in German language. He shouted German words as we don’t understand German language. Other Kazakhistani visitors helped us and translated him in Russian that we are tourist and no talking Russian and We do nothing wrong just wandering and watching animals in Russian. Then he became silent and moved away.

THEN, We saw him HE IS FOLLOWING US! Then We decided to fight him for What he wants??!! We didn’t afraid of him! Why he followed us?? His face is red and eyes are looking like a horrible! He was looking very furious and his mouth was foaming!! Then He again moved away!

Anyway, We left that place but He disturbed us so so much!

I believe that He does same things to other visitors like they are enemy for him. He fights for no reason with himself and people and shouts and speaks nonsense words.

For the management i would say that please be informed that person is really dangerous one and annoying visitors so much! He shouldn’t be working in that...

Совесть есть у людей кидать животным в морду кукурузные палочки, хлеб, попкорн? Это шоу для вас? Для кого продаются по пакетам еда для кормежки животных? Еще и не просто контактным животным дают, перекидывают через решетку диким животным, которым строго настрого запрещено давать еду. Стоят наглые мамы со своими детьми, поощряют то что их дети дают непригодную для животных еду. Как так можно с братьями нашими меньшими? Закройте эти несчастные ларьки с едой, и пусть люди со своей едой не приходят, или же наймите людей которые за этим следят, Абсолютно халатное отношение у персонала, не должны терять бдительность. За четыре часа не увидела ни одного работника, никому нельзя сказать о таком отношении, никто вовремя не поит животных и не убирает за ними, воняет отходами за несколько метров. Площадь для многих животных ужасно мала, лисы и шакалы лежат там же где написали и накакали. Еще и освежиться никак не могут, вы же знаете как у нас в Шымкенте солнце печет, в чем проблема ставить прохладную воду для животных, когда даже мы от жары мучаемся? В террариуме тоже грязно, для некоторых змей слишком маленькие места, нет укрытий, животные чувствуют себя некомфортно. Аксолотлям вообще видимо воду не меняют, вода какой раз уже мутнющая. Просто кошмар полный....

AVOID THIS ZOO! I gave one star because zero was not possible. The living conditions of the animals are appalling. The cages are tiny, which is ridiculous given all the unused space in this nearly abandoned zoo. Especially the bears, tigers, lions and fish are subject to grave mistreatment due to the lack of space, leading to very obvious signs of stress. Don't contribute to this abuse, it...
