Really thrilling and exciting to go up those Un-ending steel stairs to the top. Great place to visit and see an aerial view of kitui town and the expansive county at large. Only 15 minutes from kitui town. Entrance fee is only 200 bob pp and 1000 pp for camping per night, all amenities provided, you come with your own camping gear. They said they can allow you to camp at the top if you so wish. (Having camped on top of mount kenya & mount Ololokwe, this sounded very exciting to try) Great place good staff good grounds with restaurant and bar seperate and also has a kids play area. Hospitable staff. Kind and helpful Also note, no food and drinks from outside is allowed.

If anyone tells you there is nothing new under the sun direct them to Ivia ya Nzambani (Nzambani Rock). The marvelous rock that sits in Kitui County ,Kenya is shrouded with mystery .Bizarre voices are said to emanate from the rock at the sun-down .It is said by the locals that if you go round the rock seven times ,your gender changes ,further claiming many have their gender change after doing so. Two versions of story explain the wonder of Nzambani.A story is told of missionaries who hid in the rock as they were being pursued by Kamba warriors. In the creepy rock, they stumbled upon women clothes and they put them on as disguise .When the warriors caught up with them, they were shocked to find the men changed to women .Another story is told of a gorgeous Kamba girl , Nzambani was her name. One day while collecting firewood with her two friends, she spotted a round; astounding rock .She thought it would make a grinding tool for her Grandfather's tobacco. Nzambani decided to hide the rock from her friends .After she had collected enough firewood she went to take the rock but it was immovable and the poor Nzambani got stuck and cried for help .Her friends rushed home to inform the elders but when they arrived the following day, Nzambani had transformed into a rock. It is said Nzambani continues to grow till this day .The bizarre rock rises more than 90 feet high with a top surface area that is almost an acre. At the top of Nzambani, visitors can have soothing views of...
