Sosian — Attraction in Laikipia County

Myself, my sister, and my mom stayed at Sosian Ranch for five nights in June of 2022. We had a fabulous stay and cannot recommend Sosian highly enough.

The accommodations were lovely with comfortable ranch houses and beautiful common spaces including verandas, a pool area, and comfortable dining spots. We really enjoyed the community aspect of Sosian and got to know our guides, the staff, and other guests well. The food was fantastic and I loved the variety of cuisines. I have a food allergy and the staff was very accommodating to that which was much appreciated.

We spent time on game drives with our guides, Albie, John, and James, who were able to show us a large variety of wildlife including elephant, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, hippos and many more! The wildlife is a little more elusive here than other places in Kenya due to the remote nature but that made the experience that much more exciting.

We also spent a lot of time horseback riding as we booked through Equus Journeys (which was also a great experience). Our horseback guides, Megan, Ollie, and Harry, were very fun to ride with and handled all wildlife encounters expertly. The horses were well trained and appropriate to our level of experience-we enjoyed lots of walking, riding up to a camping experience, and plenty of exciting gallops. We also took a ride on the camels which was a fun novel experience.
