Lake Elmenteita — Attraction in Mbaruk/Eburu ward

Still a great place to visit for some tranquility and sundowner. Enjoyed bird watching, the buffaloes, zebras, and a lot more interesting stuff. You can roam freely but beware of buffaloes that start roaming near the lake after 6pm. When the guards tell you to terminate your picnic at 6pm, you better do it unless you have a way to interact with buffaloes. We extended our enjoyment past 6.30pm and the buffaloes started coming near where we were. We left! Entrance fee is Ksh 215 per head and you pay Ksh 300 if you want to go past the gate with your car. It's around 100 meters from the entrance gate to the lake, but some people prefer going inside with their cars due to various reasons like photoshoot and relaxing inside while bird watching. Also, lots of hotels, camping sites, and nice lounges nearby. Just 500 meters from the highway. Nice place overall. I'd recommend for a weekend getaway. The only reason where I'd not give it a 5 star is because there are no benches to sit on and relax after a long walk...
