We did a safari drive at Nguuni with James and loved it. To see how this desolate urban landscape was transformed into what it is today is quite remarkable. Now it’s not only a home to the giraffes, oryx, eland, tortoise and ostrich who live here but it has become a home and safe place for other native species and migratory bird life too.
It was quite a privilege to walk amongst the animals here and James was very passionate and informative.
Nguuni is also a place that brings the local community together and it’s humbling to see the flow on effect from the agriculture and aquaculture projects within the community. It is also great to see educational opportunities provided for local school groups - teaching the children about the environment and ecology, leading the way for future generations.

Our guide - Omar was amazing. So patient, friendly, knowledgeable and very considerate and caring. We had to walk through mud up to the view point and our trainers were ruined but we had much fun on the walk. Slipping and sliding everywhere! It was worth every moment - once you see the tortoise and giraffes.
