If you are looking for nature and serenity. This is the place to go. It's not too far from Nairobi. 2hr drive. The hike is moderate. And there are options to camp for those who would like. Normally people do a day hike to the summit of Elephant hill and descend. The hike takes about 7 to 8 hours in total. It can be a perfect getaway from on a Sunday. I would recommend wearing good hiking boots and the trek is muddy and slippery too. As we reach towards the summit the weather does change drastically. Carrying a warm hat and a warm layer such as a fleece jacket would be good. Also a windbreaker jacket would be necessary, and a rain jacket or poncho too. As the weather is usually very unpredictable up there. For a Kenyan national the park fee was kshs 250. It is also possible to get a guide at the entrance of the park.
