It was my first hike and to my luck the weather was perfect. Be ready for beautiful sceneries from the bamboo vegetation to the breathtaking sights at the summit. Personally, the climb up was an easy one, we summited in 4hrs; However the climb down was the gruelling bit, it took a toll on my knees to the point of despair :( A fair warning: If you decide to go up this hill, you have to be physically fit! Don't get up from your desk and climb it.

Elephant Hill is one of my Toughest Summit , I would describe it as an emotional hike, it did put yo test my physical and emotional strength, the summit was organised by YANA TREKKERS. We were able to finish the Summit and I am glad I did. It a place people will call "instagrammable" they views are just amazing

Summited to Elephant Hill and then headed to My. Kinangop. The Aberdare Ranges are absolutely amazing & always worth a hike. Summit Seekers organize amazing hikes. Kudos to them.

If you are looking for nature and serenity. This is the place to go. It's not too far from Nairobi. 2hr drive. The hike is moderate. And there are options to camp for those who would like. Normally people do a day hike to the summit of Elephant hill and descend. The hike takes about 7 to 8 hours in total. It can be a perfect getaway from on a Sunday. I would recommend wearing good hiking boots and the trek is muddy and slippery too. As we reach towards the summit the weather does change drastically. Carrying a warm hat and a warm layer such as a fleece jacket would be good. Also a windbreaker jacket would be necessary, and a rain jacket or poncho too. As the weather is usually very unpredictable up there. For a Kenyan national the park fee was kshs 250. It is also possible to get a guide at the entrance of the park. The Kenya Wildlife Service staff are very friendly at the park offices. Plenty of water is necessary too on the hike. It will help to cope with the...

From far distance you can see the shape of elephants tail back and head. Take the photo, later you will lose that opportunity. When we hit the Point of Despair at around 3000m it was like a shock..another steep climb in front of us. Let's try this one..its probably the top. No it wasn't the top, it was only s tail..The path was continuing up and down the main ridge, with the rock of the head domineering so far in the distance..We thought we ll never make it, lets call it done and start returning. Then, s group of fast descending mountaineers gave us words of hope "Dont give up, you are only 15 minutes away". It took us half an hour, but we did it...The plane crash site on the neighbouring hill, view tens of miles around. I gave my bamboo stick as a gift later "That stick...
