We were a big group of 12 checking in for a wedding here, staying for 2 nights. When we arrived, it was around midnight and we were warmly welcomed by Grace who told us that breakfast would be from 6-9am and that breakfast, lunch, and all use of facilities was included in our stay. Some of our group asked if there was a possibility of getting something to eat, Grace promised the group that she would be able to arrange some food and went around to each room taking orders from a menu that only had 3 items. She took the money up front and promised the group the food would arrive shortly. The order was taken at 12:30 midnight and the food did not arrive until 2:30am. Someone in the group only ordered some chicken wings and fries, paid 170USD and only received 40USD in change. The receipt was printed without the prices on it. The next day, our group checked the menu online and found out they were overcharged and asked for change back. When confronted with this information, Grace only laughed and didn’t offer an apology or money back, she was also wrong on the breakfast times and lunch was not included and you had to pay to use the gym and the pool. When we checked out, we found that they tried to charge us for our stay, even when we paid for the rooms prior to arrival. Part of our group wanted to play golf and were told by reception to pay at the end since it was getting darker. As they were about to tee off, another person runs out and demands that they pay up front and insisted that reception closed at 6pm. When they walked back, they were told reception closed at 9pm and when they returned, they were stuck playing behind 2 large groups. Overall poor service and false information with no apology or compensation from a hotel that is supposed to have such a nice reputation. I have traveled to many countries and I have always experienced hotels looking after their guests, and very disappointed to stay at a hotel with my worst...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at Karen Country Club and it was truly a slice of paradise in Nairobi. The lush greenery, immaculately maintained golf course, and stunning views made for a truly memorable experience.
But what really stood out was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The attention to detail and genuine care for guests was evident in every interaction, from the friendly caddies to the attentive waitstaff at the restaurant.
I also had the pleasure of meeting with some of the members and they spoke highly of the club's commitment to excellence, both in terms of the facilities and the community it fosters.
Overall, I highly recommend Karen Country Club to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of Nairobi, whether for a round of golf, a meal at the restaurant, or simply a stroll around the beautiful grounds.
Thank you to the entire team at Karen Country Club for an...
