A quaint gem tucked between the sprawling tea plantations in Tigoni, Kiambu. It seeks to promote and preserve the kikuyu culture and way of life. There is a small waterfall on the grounds with a viewing platform that is creaky and definitely requires some maintenance work. The food was delicious and fairly priced. A 30-40 minute visit is adequate to sample all there is to see in this place. There is an entrance fee of kshs 350 per adult(Nov 2020).

A hidden gem! My wife and I discovered this place by pure chance and I've already gone back a few times. Great for families or even a quick bite if you are just passing by. The food is also excellent. I like the limited choice and the focus they seem to have on getting it right. I like the peace and quiet of being in the middle of tigoni with so many shades of green surrounding you.

"A truly authentic Kikuyu cultural experience! Turi a Mumbi offers a deep dive into the traditions, language, and history of the Kikuyu people. The environment is welcoming, educational, and thoughtfully curated. Whether you're a local reconnecting with your roots or a visitor seeking to learn, this place is worth a visit. Highly recommended!"
