Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve is the only marine park in Kenya which has dhow cruise during afternoon to enjoy sundowner and show breakfast fast whereby you can take your breakfast to the beautiful creek enrich with mangroves forest. During the daytime you can visit the marine park by getting ticket through ecitizen or visiting the ticketing office for guidelines and for more information about hiring the boats for safari blue 💙💙💙 This place is manned by Kenya Wildlife Service and the security here is on highest level......Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve is the place to visit ♥️♥️♥️

I don't know how it is during the low season but we came during Christmas time and honestly it is a complete shame, The departing site and organisation is a complete mess. You can see in the pictures attached what is the " glass" boat, just a small dirty plexiglass frame! 20+ boat full of noisy Italian tourist side by side chasing these poor dolphins, one of the boats overturned in the waves. The snorkeling spot doesn't worth it at all, hundred of people in the sea, dead corail, see weeds and only few fishs. Even the equipment that had been given to us is crappy and dirty.

Watamu marine national reserve is the best marine park within Malindi and watamu towns, For it variety of live corals and a hundreds species of multi colour fish 🐠🐟 this is the best place for snorkeling 🤿 in watamu with it's shallow waters of at least 3 metres in depth.

We took a tour through the Watamu marine park in a glass bottom boat (glass bottom sounds nice but is useless and not necessary anyway) I give two stars less because of the condition of the starting point at Blue bay beach. The beach is packed with seaweed and trash, I would expect a Marine park, which is considered a protective organisation, to take care of this place. This is why we gained a very bad first impression of the park. However this impression improved with a boat trip to the turquoise water at sandbanks and a snorkeling tour in the reefs, which was truly beautiful. We saw lots of colourful fish, more starfish octopus crabs the shadows of two reef sharks and marvellous corals of course. The trip to the mangroves was nice as well. Lunch served very tasty and the people of the picnic site friendly and highly professional with regards to the guests needs. Thumps up for this. All together a...

I loved this

Value for money for sure Here's the thing, get there early if you wanna see the dolphins but the season for that I was informed is November to December The other thing, after seeing the dolphins, there's snorkeling... I'm not yet adventurous for that😅😅 But I'll try that next time

Afterwards, you're taken to the shallow waters to either play with the sand or swim And then lunch afterwards to try the sea food, mostly octopus, prawns and lobsters Then later a canoe ride in a certain creek at the island you're taken to And then back to the starting point It's a whole day activity so you'll have a lot of fun.

Should cost you utmost...

Unfortunately the trip which is offered as a "blue safari", it's just a boat ride, depends on the boat, you can share it with up to 40(!) other people. In our case the "glass floor" was not even uncovered, but I guess there would be not so much to see anyways... We saw a few dolphins, and the snorkeling place was extremely crowded. I saw 5 or 6 fish, and some seaweed. Sad experience unfortunately. Only after we made a trip, we read that the reef in Watamu is basically dead. Lunch in the mangrove forest is nice, but I guess one can do it without booking a special trip. In general it's a waste of...
