Magnificent scenery, very majestic. Also extremely windy (at least on the late March day we were there) so dress appropriately, windproof clothing is a must if you plan to stay longer and hike around. Lovely place to take photos of the sea or admire the waves crushing into the rocks and beach. There is a parking lot with restrooms and very well made paths to walk around. It was worth making the journey to this site. I didn't spot any food opportunity around, in case you are hungry safest to bring something with you.

it's OK, but nothing 'mind blowing'; the best thing is actually the view towards reynisjara; oh, that's unless you're as lucky as we were - which is when you get to see the puffins here :-D and that's a 5-star encounter then; but other than that - it's OK to stop and see, but not a mandatory stop... and I mean both the lower parking place and surroundings as well as the upper one accessible by a 4x4 only - given how many perfect spots Iceland has to offer, these here are nothing exceptional

It is a very beautiful beach. There are arch formations in the ocean and the grass on the hills is always flowing in the wind. It is one of the rare places where you can see puffins fishing in the water and nesting on the cliffs. The wind can be quite stiff and the Atlantic ocean can be a bit unpredictable, so use good judgement and always be aware of your surroundings. This is definitely a great place to visit when you are in Iceland.

This beach offers multiple viewing/photographic opportunities. There are magnificent basaltic columns of varying size well as a shallow cave formed from the columns. In the sea there are two majestic stone columns. The is no Continental Shelf to protect the coast here so the surf is very strong. It is recommended by locals that no one should enter the water here and also that you should keep a very close watch on the surf as occasional large waves have the strength to sweep people away. We would gladly...
