One of my favourite places in Kuwait to spend a quality time with friends and families on a nice sunny winter. Located along the Gulf Road a man made facility...Green Island is one of the most visited places in Kuwait. This place is ideal for having outdoor family picnics and for Barbeques. Initially they had in-built ovens for placing the fire which has been removed recently..so u have to get your own complete Barbeque Kit to enjoy sizzling food. The Island is a huge place very well maintained and with a nice landscaping and a nice play area for kids. Recently the place is going through a renovation at the area near the beach along the Lagoon. The serene blue water all around and the nice little back water in the middle with a connector with the sea around is a sight to cherish when you visit this place. There are public restrooms at all convenient points all around the place. On a lighter note a nice walk all around the place is long enough to burn your calories. They also provide cycles and paddling cars on rentals. If you like you can carry your own cycles as well. The entry fee for the place is 1.5 KD per person and kids below 3 yrs can get in free. There will be staff at the entry gates with trolley to help you find a nice place inside and carry all your stuff in the trolley with a reasonable charge of 1 KD for the service. Once you find a place you can sit around on your own mattresses or get Tables and Chairs showing your tickets at another counter. The place gets really cold and chilly towards the evening ..so don't forget to carry warm clothes if you are visiting during the winters. Overall it's an excellent place to hang around with families..kids and friends for a day and come back hone with a cheerful fresh...

The Green Island is an artificial island in Kuwait, off the coast of Kuwait City's promenade. It was opened in 1988 and is a popular tourist attraction and it is the first artificial island in the Gulf sea region. The green island also includes playgrounds, restaurants and cafés, a Roman theater with a seating capacity of 700 people, a castle for children and many recreational activities. The island has a 35-meter-high tourist tower and is one of the most important tourist towers inside Kuwait. It also contains a promotional citadel specially designed for children, equipped with small trenches and waterfalls, as well as a spiral file for children. It is designed differently from many other places with children's toys. It has been designed in a small circular way, penetrated by a spiral road, in addition to many different restaurants, as well as other centers and services that take the form of the Roman amphitheater. The island also has one of the world's finest trains, and the mission of this train is to transport visitors from the beginning of the island to all parts of the island and to give them a chance to enjoy the beautiful views of the island from the inside. It is worth mentioning that the Green Island has been decorated With a total of five thousand thousands of Nabataeans and shrubs all over it, which gave them wonderful landscapes chilling. It is worth mentioning that these shrubs and plants enjoyed by this island able to grow adaptation in the climate of this region, which is enjoyed throughout Kuwait, The Or...

Green Island is one of Kuwait’s most unique attractions and a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends. Built along the coastline, it offers a beautiful combination of green landscapes, open walking areas, and panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. The atmosphere is refreshing, especially in the evenings when the sea breeze and city lights create a relaxing environment.

There are plenty of walking and jogging tracks, cycling paths, and open spaces for picnics or casual gatherings. The kids’ play areas and small recreational facilities make it especially family-friendly. It is also a popular spot for photography, thanks to its scenic views and distinctive design.

The entrance fee is very affordable (1.5 KD), making it accessible to everyone. Food kiosks and cafés are available, though bringing your own snacks is also common. Parking is usually convenient.

Overall, Green Island is a great outdoor escape in Kuwait – peaceful, clean, and enjoyable for all ages.

Place needs lots of improvement from policymakers and proper experienced management. Kids playground games are good condition. Bathroom facilities very poor and no toilet paper and mops sweeper hanging from toilet walls rusty and broken looking and overused no functioning lock and soap bottle looks shadey like it is mixed with spit and overall area from barbaric period as side of bathroom building is cracked and broken walls extremely risky looking and unappealing to tourists and locals giving bad impression of lovely kuwait. Wish for more appealing sights experiencing nice architecture of kuwait with local music displays like samri music or pearl history of kuwait

Really an awesome place especially for kids. Area is very vast. Entry fee is 1.5KD including kids above 2 years old. At present, BBQ is not allowed. Outside food is allowed. Very clean washrooms are available. Kids can run around and play with cycles and whatsoever they have. Even cycles and cars are available on chargeable basis for taking a tour around the place. After 2pm the crowd increases so it is better to reach by 10AM so kids get enough space to run around and enjoy.
