The National Park is absolutely beautiful, although it’s true that it can get quite crowded. There are many different hiking routes to choose from. We did the hike up to the glacier and spent one night camping there. It cost us 150 som with our own tent, but you can also stay in the mountain hut and rent a sleeping bag. However, the number of sleeping bags is limited, so it’s probably best to bring your own gear or try to arrange it in advance. Food is also available at the hut, though the prices are quite high – so if possible, it’s worth bringing your own supplies.
Getting to the park is very easy. You can either take a taxi (ours cost around €12 from the city center) or bus number 1, which drops you right at the entrance. The entrance fee is 400 som, and with this ticket you can access the new construction at the gate and then take a shuttle bus that brings you further into the park, since private cars are no longer allowed to drive up inside. There is still a parking lot outside for cars.
Once inside, there’s a small shop where you can buy snacks, water, juices, and some basic food. There’s also a hotel with a bar/cafeteria, so I assume you can stop there for a drink or a meal as well. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to explore and definitely...
Read moreIf you want to experience the soul of Kyrgyzstan, Ala-Archa National Park is the place to start. Just a short drive from Bishkek, it feels like stepping into another world — where powerful mountains touch the sky, rivers rush down from glaciers, and fresh alpine air clears your mind. Whether you hike the trails, enjoy a picnic with family, or simply breathe in the scenery, Ala-Archa gives you the pure taste of untouched nature.
On the other hand, Berezovaya Rosha is like the city’s hidden retreat. A calm, green escape inside Bishkek, where birch trees line the paths and create an atmosphere of peace and simplicity. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, meeting friends, or spending quiet moments away from the city noise.
Both places are very different but equally special — Ala-Archa shows the wild beauty of Kyrgyz nature, while Berezovaya Rosha offers a soft, everyday charm. Together, they should definitely be on every...
Read moreA wonderful highlight to visit while in Kyrgyzstan. You can take public bus from the city for 17 som to drop you near the gate of Ala Archa National Park. We can with travel agencies which arranged our transport. Car are not allowed to go in nowadays. So had to stop outside and walk to the gate where we paid 200 som each. The guide has no right to enter without payment, so had to pay for the guide as well. Crossing the gate, get the bus to drive you 12 km inside. Again take mini bus to the second gate where we met with a nice hotel for rent and eagle man. Now we are inside the national park. Locals come with their stuff to eat and spend full day. Play area for kids, many water streams, huge trees, wooden bridge to stop for photos and many others. It’s a great place for hikers. Few animals but when no noise like wolf and fox. Coffee shop and Mosque near the gate. Had...
