wonderland. Go for it! Green Discovery is (Feb 17) the only organisation, that leads customers through the whole cave. its incredible beautiful. Huge rooms with stalagmites and stalagtites, not too hard to do - but as it is long, you need some fitness to paddle your boat upstream. At the other end we didn't go outside and had lunch at a fire. Downstream was easier and we could stay in the boat on the small cataracts (there are several passages, where you have to walk and the guys carry the boats).
In some caves lots of small bats, but not eery, never!
Overwhelming, when you come back to light ;-) Close to the entrance there is an additional cave with marvellous stalagmites and -tites. guys from green discovery did an excellent job. Although it is not cheap, do it, you will never forget it!
Locals also offer a tour into the cave - don't know how much it costs, but it will also be impressive and you will get a good impression of the beauty and greatness of this cave. They seemed nice.
The road is at the end very bumpy and I would recommend going there on a special motorbike only if you are experienced...
Read moreOne of the best adventure attractions in Laos today. By far less touristy than Koh Klor cave that loosed already its adventure charm because of enormous tourist infrastructure. Here it is still wild and adventurous. However, 2 km away from the cave entrance there is a basic guesthouse. You can also camp close to the ticket counter. Shower and toilet are available. Walk to the cave 700 meters. The cave is 7km deep, but it is possible to do only 2 km go and back. After 2 km there are rapids, so you need inflatable boat and special gear as well to go further. Lack of oxygen makes dizzy. Do not forget to do a lovely halfhour walk (go and back). - Inside the cave there is a little bamboo pier. From the pier start a wonderful walkway. Lifejacket will be useful. Do not forget to wear it. Available at the entrance. Torch as well. There is no electric light inside the cave. I reached the cave on my own enduro motorbike. I paid 93.000 kip in total - 30000 for the boat and fo the boatman, 50000 for the entrance ticket and 3000 for the...
Read moreA very nice cave and we did not meet any tourist. BUT be aware that the road goes from the southern village “KOK” thru the bridge. There is an asphalt road a little bit but then just a very bad dirt road. I can recommend it just for experienced motorbikers. You do not find the road on google maps officialy. When you are on the place you will pay 30.000 kip each for the entrance to “National park”, then 3000 kip for scooter or motorbike parking and 60.000 kip for a small boat with a guide. There is no possibility to enter inside the cave without a boat. If it is expensive for you lets try to negotiate hardly. It could work and the staff is understanding and very friendly. You will sail on a boat around 300 meters and then further by walk for around 30 minutes. In front of the cave there is a nice lake where you can swim and we have seen a few small guesthouses in...
