Luang Namtha Museum — Attraction in Luang Namtha

The museum covers the history of the province, mainly focusing on the various tribes and ethnicities of the region, such as the Akha and Hmong, etc.

It is open from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The entrance ticket costs 20,000 kip.

I recommend visiting it—the lady at the reception is friendly.

You will need to take off your shoes before entering, so if you don’t want to walk barefoot, bring socks.

The museum is small, with exhibits only on the ground floor. So, It won’t take much of your time.

Pretty small, just one room (albeit pretty large) gives a bit of the history of the area and a bit of information of some of the ethnic groups that live in Luang Namtha. When we arrived a lady came up to us and asked "museum?" When we said yes she unlocked the door and turned on the lights for us, when we left she locked up and left on a motorcycle, so I guess it's not completely reopened yet, but if you can go I think it's a nice way to spend an hour in Luang Namtha and learn a bit...
