This is a must-visit if you're in Luang Namtha!

From the entrance it's beautifully developed with little bridges & pathways & a coffee shop, small restaurant, lots of seating & even a pizza restaurant with a wood fire pizza oven!

Chef Bird is apparently from Thailand & invited me to sit down for pizza, but he was a bit pricey for my daily cycling SEA budget.

Small-medium-large pizzas - 100k-150k-200k.

Chef Bird is quite a charming character though & we took some fun pictures together.

His cool, happy staff were munching on pizza & I was very tempted to just order a pizza.

You can walk up over the waterfall over a sturdy suspension bridge, but the hiking trail was closed due to heavy rain.

There was a sign that said no swimming & I guess that was justified after all the rain.

The main waterfall is only about 30m high, but they made the place super beautiful & really created a little jungle paradise!

Quite a romantic setting for couples - I would would totally bring my date...

We actually didn’t plan to go to the waterfall but got to know from a local person so headed there on our bicycles. We actually didn’t have cash to pay for the ticket nor they accepted cards or there was no ATM but they were really friendly enough to let us have a quick visit without a ticket. On the way to the waterfall there were a few nice restaurants. We loved the ambience of it. Waterfall itself was not a very tall one but it was worth visiting due to the nice country ride up to the waterfall and the whole experience of it. Felt good after visiting the waterfall, the hike. Luang Namtha is a small town but is very rich with natural beauty and amazingly...

This is now open but they are still developing the site to be more tourist friendly. Currently there is no entrance fee. You can walk to the waterfall. There is also a hiking trail which goes up to the left of the waterfall and crosses a bridge above the waterfall. I didn't go much further after this because the trail became very steep and muddy. Hopefully this is improved along with everything else but it might take a while.

I will say that the drive to the waterfall is more worthwhile than the waterfall itself at this point. Truly stunning scenery by the paddy fields and through Nam...

The waterfall is pretty cute, but the best was the hike you can do if you keep going on the left. Look at the map at the entrance, I forgot to take a picture. They are restoring the trails. It is really enjoyable since they are building stairs in the clay, it makes it easier. I walked at least 45 to 60 minutes and I only reach the top of the mountain, I wasn't expecting to go that deep in the woods so I turned back. Not enough water. At the moment, it is free. I am sure it is going to change soon, they've built a nice restaurant and café next to the water stream.

So the waterfall itself is pretty useless and super small, BUT! If you follow the little stairway path on it's right (jump on rocks in the water for the other side), it is going round the mountain (up and down) into the jungle for about an hour and you end up in the village on the main road to the waterfall (basically, doing a free jungle trek with nice path). The path is clear, with barriers to hold on steep places and not dangerous. Not for little kids though! But an adventurous couple will do just fine! This was the highlight of the day. Have fun!
