I was curious so I decided to investigate. Well, it's open and it's closed. The official opening has now been postponed to February 2025. Unofficially is open for visiting. There's a very unofficial looking gate and "guard" and all signs are handwritten. The guard wanted 100k kip but I negotiated that back to 2 dollars. I have zero expectations that his boss will ever see any of it .

Anyway, yes, it's no longer a "wild" waterfall. They carved a huge road in the mountain, and are building a parking lot, shops, restaurants, toilet buildings etc etc. They made a whole path up to the waterfall where they're building an observation platform. It's nearly done, but I have doubts if it will be finished in February.

The waterfall itself? Well, it's nice, twenty meters high and even now it still flows.

Is it worth the whole circus they're constructing around it? Nahh, to be honest not. It's nice but there are hundreds of waterfalls in SE Asia more worth it. But that didn't stop anyone from the huge investments made here, and they're probably right. Once it's finished and it hits Insta it will probably be the next thing you...

Nice little waterfall

Like Wolf Roodsan siad 5 months back, it is "closed" but open.

You go there and a guy at a sorta formal looking booth waves you down and days you need to pay. One of my friends just ignored him and drove off. He asked the rest of us to 50k kip. We haggled down to 30k.

Im pretty sure it's just some random guy making money off tourists cause we got no ticket or anything. Even better, once we were past the gate we saw a big sign saying that the falls were temporary closed! (There were a few locals enjoying them though)

There was a lot of construction going on at the parking lot area, and looks like it will be very beautiful once it's finished and the nature had returned. Maybe a year or so?

But the falls themselves were nice. There were several, the largest being at the top. There is a decent swimming pool at the bottom one. The others don't have much of a pool at their base.

I'd say it was a slightly odd experience, but definitely worth the...

The road to the waterfall needs some serious repairs done, some passages are really dangerous. If you're planing to go there with your own bike and you have no experience, be aware! This is the one star I had to take away. It takes roughly 20 minutes from the main road because of the road conditions.

The hiking way to the actual waterfall is easy to reach by foot. There are some marvelous sights along the way.

Even though I didn't bring any swimsuit I followed the advice of other reviews, slipped out of my clothes and stood underneath the little waterfall (during summer season, so between February and April, there is only very few water coming down). Nethertheless it was refreshing and I was alone for all the time, I only saw 3 other tourists on my way (1 am). I...
