Rakši Contact ZOO is a truly enchanting place that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff who were clearly passionate about the well-being of the animals in their care. The opportunity to have direct contact with the animals was a highlight of my visit. From feeding and petting farm animals to observing exotic species up close, each encounter was filled with wonder and excitement. The diverse collection of animals, including both familiar and rare species, showcased the zoo's commitment to conservation and education. The habitats were well-maintained, providing a safe and comfortable environment for the animals to thrive. The staff's dedication to wildlife preservation was evident as they shared valuable insights about the importance of conservation efforts. Rakši Contact ZOO offers a unique and educational experience that is suitable for nature enthusiasts and animal lovers of all ages. It is a place that fosters a deep connection with the animal kingdom and inspires visitors to become advocates for the protection of our planet. I left Rakši Contact ZOO with a renewed sense of appreciation for the wonders of nature and a desire to contribute to...

Kids had fun in the park. They could feed the animals. The problem was when i bought the tickets. I asked about lemurs feeding but because she didn speak or understand english at all then she shaked her head meaning like no. First we thought that we cant buy tickets from there then we enjoyed the park and asked about the feeding from someone else from the park and they told we can buy bus tickets what takes us to lemur feedeng from the cashier. Then we needed to wait 2 hours to see lemurs. Because she could not sell the lemur bus ticket in the first place. And there wasnt any information also at the cashier about the lemurs feeding prices that is why we thought at the beginninin that maybe they dont sell them there then. And the food we ordered wasnt good also. On the picture there is like chicken and vegetables but we had chicken in a...

We have visited Rakši for the third or forth time over the years and today it was definitely the best experience out of all I can remember. There is a new ticketing policy which makes it more beneficial to take a ticket that includes all the activities rather than just general entry one or cherry picking a couple of activities extra. We were there from around 11:30 until 16:30 and there was not a dull moment - we were busy with feeding lemurs, having a walk with llama, riding a camel, kids were driving around on small electric cars and having a ride on a boat. We did bring some food with us and had a wonderful picnic, even though there is a restaurant in the park available too. We also were lucky with the weather which made the day perfect. The only downside is that it is a little pricey to...

Ostriches should be double fenced because they can reach you over a meter pass their fence and they bite. My child got bitten from behind when just passing by. Google doesn’t allow me to post my child’s bruised arm. Unfortunately staff initial reaction is to blame, and they do NOT have FiRST AID. The staff were not friendly on multiple occasions, but at the end solved the issues that occurred. It is also very expensive for what it is and apart from bouncing castle/pillow, everything else costs extra. The best part was lemur feeding, and camel milk ice cream was delicious. There are other amazing animal experiences in Latvia, Rakši still need to improve massively to reach the top. (please double fence the ostriches, nobody feeds them anyway)

I rate it two stars only because the children were delighted, and that's why I visited the zoo. First of all, I didn't find the advertised parrots or lemurs. Secondly, during feeding, the ostrich took off the children's gloves twice, okay, it happens, but why do you sell food for all the animals except the donkey then. Lastly - the zoo is located in a valley from which it is impossible to leave in winter without spiked tires or snow chains. The zoo staff neither clears the steep driveway of snow nor sprinkles it with sand. Fortunately, a forest guard who was passing by helped me and 3 other stuck vehicles. If it weren't for him, I would probably have had to spend the night in the forest.
