Dunika bog — Attraction in Dunikas pagasts

The trail is open again, it was closed for renovation. We visited the bog from the northern side and got almost to the end of the southern part of the trail. About 1 km of the trail from the northern side was renovated and in perfect condition. Then about 300 meters is very damaged and difficult to walk. The rest of the trail in the southern direction through the bog is in moderate condition, but possible to walk. I do not know if the bog is accessible from the southern entrance. In some places, in forest, the trail is badly damaged and there is written 'STOP' on it. Anyway, from the northern entrance, it is possible to walk from the northern to the southern edge of the bog.

Very beautiful nature! We started in the south. The path is not in terrible condition but it needs some repair to be done. There is a small parking spot and trail starts at two points - we recommend the left one. The trail gets worse in the middle but then there is a renovated patch. From the south its a 4,4 km hike to the new path. But the views make it worth it! It is not suitable for small kids, pets and bikes. Condition of the path is varying, but I'd say...
