Wonderful place for sightseeing located on a very picturesque area - surrounded by the river. Everything is very well maintained. There is a good parking for the car, plenty of space for a quick picnic, (we brought our own food and enjoyed it after the sightseeing). There is a regular entrance fee for adults of EUR 1.80 but many discounts are available so you need to check your price first. Rentals of boats and water bicycles are available for a very reasonable price, the staff is very nice and helpful. The castle ruins are especially beautiful in so called 'golden hour' before the sunset. We really loved...

Naturally beautiful historical site. It used to arise high on the hill but after the dam was built and the water level was brought up, it's almost like sitting on the lake. In the evening nicely lighted and the reflections on the watermirror are picturesque. We stayed in the Divas Upes charming family hotel from few minutes walk on the meadow on the other side of the lake. I was amazed of the beauty of the landscape in this region. PS the Pils has entrance ticket and small souvenir shop. We bought leather wristbands with empowering and protective marks from local...

Beautiful location by River, lots of information boards and trails, car park available too, Cafe and toilets which were closed until summer. No ticket required, Free to enter! Could explore all areas of the ruins without any restrictions, went on a week day and didn’t see anyone else.
