Learn moreIf you want to visit an Escape room at Karosta Prison: I do not recommend spending your money on that. The organisation and the quality of the room is ridiculously poor for that amount of money. First of all, at some point in the game, you see that some equipment is broken (and they fixed it with a stick-it notes), after that when you look at clues you cannot stop wondering whether it is part of the game or it was broken (which makes the whole experience unpleasant). More than that, the lady that met us, just squeezed us into the room without giving us any backstory (it was supposed to be connected to 1984 book - there is just one detail during the whole game that references books) - so the whole immersive part was absent. Finally, the lady said that she would help us if we are stuck. In fact we were stuck, and we were stuck for 20 minutes - no help or clues were provided, even when we asked them. Only in the end, she showed us the thing we were missing to faster complete the task (which again, was again was quite weird and...
Read moreAt first, I did not want to go because I do not like gloomy places of violent history. But eventually curiosity took over and I ventured out to explore Europe's only military prison open to tourists.
Getting there by bus took some time, but fortunately the former prison is just a 5-minute-walk away from the bus stop (lines 4 and 7).

At one point you will get the chance to get locked up inside a pitchblack isolation cell for a few seconds. Just imagine to get locked up inside that cell for 23 hours per day and you will know the impact it can have on the human soul and spirit.
I can highly recommend visiting Karosta Prison and you do not need a reservation to...
Read moreWell, this was epic and nothing stands even close. Hard even to describe. Our team lead made a surprise for us - the fear and OMG when we stoped at the prison gate from everybody in the car... If you use this experience for team building, be sure people don't use alcohol and take with you some trading suit, because you will need to sweat and feel real army experience. (they make a note if you cannot do smth by helth issues.), but be prepared to be coached. Hard to decribe even, but I strongly recommend. Will change some mindsets for real. We also stayed there for a night and OMG - team party in prison.. Well, nothing like that have experienced before and also Sleeping in prison cameras on hard wood pallets and one mattress... I wouldn't say I wouldn't happily say- let's do it again, because fear and sweat is real and no chance to misbehave, but also most of time hard to keep silent and don't laugh out loud. 😄😄...
