Потом в здании была школа, ввиду исторических перипетий, войн, пожаров и переездов, от усадьбы сохранилось само здание, дендрологический парк и на этом всё. В бывшей учительской комнате создан интерьер комнаты какой бы она могла быть на момент окончания строительства усадьбы. Жаль, что от школы, например, никаких свидетельств не осталось, это же тоже история места. В общем, я побывал в музее на момент смены части экспозиции, удалось осмотреть часть выставки "с древнейших времён" и до уголка крестьянского быта на начало XX века. С точки зрения целостности подачи "времени и места" - сомнительный музей. А вот в качестве выставочного зала - очень хороший. На третьем этаже прекрасная выставка работ уроженца Талси Карлиса Фрейманиса, впрочем, выставка временная, так же как и выставка картин Юриса Звирбулиса. Обе выставки дадут фору многим столичным галлереям. При основном здании есть отдельностоящее выставочное пространство, на момент моего визита там выставлялись рисунки Вилиса Даудзиньша. По части художественной ценности мне повезло и я крайне рекомендовал бы посетить Талсинский музей, тем более, что плата за вход совсем небольшая.
